The Proper Procedure

Hire a company that has credits behind them, a company that has worked with the recording stars and has a reputable standing in the recording industry. Let them produce and promote you. They have the know how.

The dream of the 50’s was full of want- to-bees waiting for a free lunch. However, some well known names such as Chubby Checker, Bobby Rydell, Fabian, Elvis Presley, etc. stepped forward and employed professional industry people to produce and promote them. They became stars while the want-to-bees were still waiting. The same story holds true today. We still have some "want-to-bees" and we have those that have approached the music business like a business. Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Leeann Rimes, etc. What is next for those that follow the proper procedure? One of the most difficult times for a new artist or songwriter is the wait and see period after or during the process of submitting your demo to the executive branches of the recording industry. What can you do during this time period?

  • Advertise your web presence on your business cards, flyers, performing announcements, etc Use it as an audition tool for those that want to hire you Perform everyplace you can Take part in every promotion as they become available Public service announcements are always great publicity
  • Take part in TV talk shows
